Lenovo, one of the top personal computer manufacturers in the world, is planning to produce a 55-inch smart TV. This smart TV will use a Qualcomm dual-core CPU and the latest Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwich and will include a 5-megapixel webcam for integrated face recognition. The time line and cost have not yet been released.
This is a big deal due to Lenovo's huge PC market share. A smart TV is a computer. This is a rapidly changing technology integration, as manufactures search for systems that satisfy consumer needs and adapt to changes. Lenovo's blend of Video On Demand, Internet applications and traditional TV programming should do well, especially if will come out soon.
