I have taught with a few statistics books over the years, all good books. I recently discovered a book in introductory statistics from Open Stax. One thing this book has over it’s competitors is price, free online or $33.50 hardback. Most of the other books come with online homework systems, videos, and other goodies. However, with a little effort, I can find similar extras. YouTube has an amazing selection of good math videos; it’s not hard to make your own YouTube videos. I post videos there and utilize Google+ and Hangouts. WebWork from the MAA and MyOpenMath from David Lippman offer excellent online homework and testing systems. These are just a few of the possibility.
